There has never been such a momentous decision to be made for the survival of mankind as the one that we have to make today. The nuclear bluff statement by American President, Donald Trump, which said, “I may do it; I may not do it. I mean, nobody knows what I’m going to do”, is unfortunately not only trumpeting a call for the purpose of forcing the Iranians to back down and surrender to Israeli pressure to give up their nuclear program, but it is also threatening the American people to either support him in his madness or get ready to be blown out of existence with a nuclear strike. This is the clearest danger for America and the rest of the world by Donald Trump since Hiroshima.
HOW_MY_FATHER_TOUGHT_ME_TO_GO_ON_A_NOWHERE
I never fully realized, until much later in life, the importance of what my father taught me when he showed me how to drive a car at the age of fifteen. It was many years later that I recognized the significance of what he meant by what he called GOING ON A NOWHERE. What my father was actually teaching me was how to behave in life in a way which benefits other people. He was telling me: “Don’t make the mistake that others make; don’t be like everybody else.” My question was: how do I avoid doing what everybody else does when I don’t know how everybody else behaves?
This little puzzle started with the question: how do you generate a quadratic Lydian spiral? This short addition to my previous report of May 6, 2025, is more of a question of musical ordering principle than a technical musical question, because the underlying question behind it is: is there such a thing as a geometrical-musical coincidence of opposites in the galactic domain of temporal eternity?
“Indeed,” Pope Leo XIV marveled, “they are entrusted to us, who were chosen by Him before we were formed in our mothers’ wombs, reborn in the waters of Baptism and, surpassing our limitations and with no merit of our own, brought here and sent forth from here, so that the Gospel might be proclaimed to every creature.”
“Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” the new Holy Father repeated, noting, “If we reflect on the scene we are considering, we might find two possible answers, which characterize two different attitudes.”
First, Pope Leo said, there was the response of the world, which “will not hesitate to reject and eliminate Him” once “His presence becomes irksome” also because of “His stern moral requirements.”
Then there is the other possible response to Jesus’ question, that of ordinary people, who see Him “as an upright man of courage”; but to them “He is only a man, and therefore, in times of danger, during His passion, they too abandon Him and depart disappointed.”
What is striking about these two attitudes, the Pope said, is their relevance today, for, they, the Holy Father acknowledged, embody notions that we could easily find on the lips of many men and women in our own time, even if, while essentially identical, they are expressed in different language.
“Even today,” he warned, “there are many settings in which the Christian faith is considered absurd, meant for the weak and unintelligent. Settings where other securities are preferred, like technology, money, success, power, or pleasure.”
These are contexts, he highlighted, “where it is not easy to preach the Gospel and bear witness to its truth, where believers are mocked, opposed, despised or at best tolerated and pitied.”
